Miss Confusion Sighs Alone, 2003

My friend, Amitriptyline,

could you bring me one more dream?

I’ve been awake too long.

Bring the dreams that tell me lies,

with your hypnotic lullabies.

Plagiarize the angel’s song.

My drug, Amitriptyline,

could you bring me just one dream?

I’ve think I’ve been awake too long.

Blah blah blah.

The Ferris wheel spins on.

Bring the dreams that hypnotize;

sing your confounding lullabies,

those plagiarized angel songs.

Paxil to help me start the day,

no more need for me to pray.

Undo the tension, help me breathe,

until more of the Morphine dreams.

Remove all these anxieties.

Let me rest,

and let me smile.

The Jury is on trial.
In a trance, Aquarius malaise,

the Oxen of the Sun,

follow light into their graves.

Never sleeping,

follow dumb,

until the sun at last is done.
